FYR: BlogHer analyzes women’s roles in ads (follow up to Summer’s Eve bad ad post)

Yes, I am still laughing at the Summer’s Eve “How to ask your boss for a raise” ad. (I posted the ad on Friday). I think my favorite article on the subject and how bad it was came from BlogHer. One of their writers, Elana Centor, took a look at the portrayal of women in advertising throughout the last century.

Even if you don’t read all of the text, the ads say it all.  (Be sure to scroll through the post and then down to the comments, where she posted the Lysol ads. Lysol as a feminine wash? OUCH!)
